As parents, there are so many things we wish we knew before we got into "the business" of parenting. As our children grow older, being surrounded by children of several different backgrounds, they are certainly influenced, albeit, positively and negatively. What we instill in our children as principles we consider important enough to pass on to them may not go over well with our children's peers, especially when put into practice at school, while playing, etc. The results may often reflect on a child once home and/or in a setting away from school.
Your child may come home with questions that baffle you. Your child may become disrespectful, irresponsible, begin new habits know or unknown to you, etc. We must learn to remain in control of these situations without lashing out or behaving irrationally.
It could become frustrating for parents to watch as their child becomes a different person before them.
